Your wedding, commitment, naming, renewal of vows or other
ceremony is a solemn and serious occasion (however casual). But it
definitely does not need to be stuffy or boring.
Of course you should have fun at your ceremony. My role as your
celebrant is to support, guide, and inspire you, to celebrate your joy,
and to do the hard work of crafting for your approval a unique
ceremony. As an experienced and skilled celebrant who has created and
conducted more than 300 ceremonies, each one uniquely created for the
occasion, I know my craft, but you know your wishes, dreams, and values
and the ideas for your ceremony they inspire.
I will ensure that
- you feel relaxed enough to laugh
during the ceremony
- your ceremony
provides plenty of opportunities for laughter, and for tears of
happiness
- your ceremony is meaningful and
inspiring
- your ceremony is totally "you".
You can hold your ceremony where you choose,
on the day and at the time that suits you.
With every aspect of your ceremony you get to
choose what is included, apart from legal requirements for marriage
ceremonies nothing is imposed on you. Your ceremony can be short and
sweet, or longer (but not too long), it can be traditional and formal,
funky and fun, laid-back and casual or totally off the wall.
You can write your own vows, include a
meaningful symbolic rituals, music that speaks to your heart and
readings that add an extra something - or not. It is up to you.
But we also won't forget that this is an
important and never-to-be-repeated occasion, so I will
make sure that
- all legal requirements are met
- the ceremony does more than just tickle
your funny bone - it touches your hearts and those of everyone present
- through the words and the staging of
your ceremony opportunities for exceptional photographs
and video footage are produced, lovely memories are created, and
everyone gets into the mood for the party that
follows.

There are some
things I won't/don't do
(most of which you wouldn't want your
celebrant to do, but some of which involve jumping out of perfectly
mechanically sound aeroplanes or wearing rubber suits)

Jenny, I
don't quite know how to put into words how beautiful & personal our
ceremony was! Every guest has commented on how they felt included &
involved - which was our no 1 criteria that we asked you for. The way
in which you weaved our story into the ceremony was perfect & there
was not a dry eye in the house - either from laughing or crying. It was
absolutely everything we could have asked for and more!

Our
ceremony was better than we could have
imagined. We both initially viewed the ceremony as the ‘boring’ part of
the day
that you have to endure before you get to the fun, more personal
reception. How
wrong we were! You made our ceremony interesting, personal and
thoughtful. It
was emotional without being embarrassing, personal without being
exclusive of
the guests and thoughtful without being long-winded and extended.. ...
