PA System - Ensuring that your ceremony
is heard
For all but the smallest of ceremonies a PA system is a
must. Unless you have very few guests or are in a space
where the natural acoustics are good, I will bring and
use a high-quality Mipro wireless PA system that will
amplify the sound sufficiently for over 200 people to
hear every word even in an outdoor situation.
While I have a voice that projects well, using a
microphone means that I can use my natural speaking
voice, and that your guests will be able to hear your
promises.
My PA system has adjustable volume so that your intimate
words will not be booming through the microphone. You
probably won't even notice the amplification - but your
guests will.
Even where the venue provides a microphone I bring my
own system because being able to use a head or lapel
microphone together with a separate hand-held microphone
to use for your vows allows more flexibility in
positioning than does a single microphone on a
stand.
One word of warning, though. PA systems and rain or
being in full sun just don't mix. Nothing drains a
battery quicker than heat, and getting wet will cause
significant damage to an expensive piece of equipment.
So a plan B is a must-have.
