Warm and Wonderful Weekday Weddings
(Registry Office Alternative Weddings) $330 - $350

At approximately the same cost as a Registry Office wedding can cost you (if you factor in parking costs to attend during business hours to complete the pre-wedding paperwork, and then again for the actual wedding) a Warm and Wonderful Weekday Wedding is a romantic and more personal alternative to a Registry Office wedding for those who want to marry during the week, either in a small private ceremony with just you and your two official witnesses or in the presence of family and friends (up to 40 people).

The ceremony will be more personal than the Registry Office Ceremony, will be delivered in a warm and friendly fashion, and you can choose your vows and other selected parts of the ceremony from beautifully written original alternatives I provide you that include both the traditional and contemporary vows.
Sheryll and Wardell honoured their heritage by incorporating both a Filipino custom and an African-American custom in their Warm and Wonderful Weekday Wedding ceremony.
It was great, personal and friendly. Communication was excellent and reliable to respond to emails quickly. Great knowledge and experience and a very lovely lady. Very happy with the service from first contact. The ceremony was beautiful and  personal.

Advantages of a Warm and Wonderful Weekday Wedding over a Registry Office Wedding
  • You can choose both time and place for your ceremony (day and evening, including public holidays, Monday-Thurs, mornings only on Friday) compare this with the weekday times available at the Registry Office: Monday to Friday9 am to 4 pm except for public holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.
  • You can make arrangements for your wedding and complete the Notice of Intended marriage even if your divorce is not yet finalised or you are waiting on receipt of  the required documentation (birth certificate, divorce certificate) available. NB these papers must be shown to the celebrant before the ceremony can take place but at the Registry Office they will not accept your booking unless you have them with you.
  • You will never have to stand in a queue
  • You will know beforehand who your celebrant is and will have had the opportunity to develop rapport with me.
  • You can meet with me after hours to make the arrangements
  • You can make the arrangements without meeting with me if you live outside Brisbane, or are eloping to Brisbane
  • You will not need to pay expensive city parking for either the ceremony or completion of legal requirements (at present this is about $20 an hour in parking garages)
  • You will have input into your ceremony so your vows and other parts of the ceremony will be personal to you. The Registry Office provides only a one-size-fits-all have a  standard quickie marriage ceremony
  • You will be able to have as few or as many guests as you like (you must have two adult witness). The Registry Office restricts the number of guests to 50.
  • The bride will be able to make a formal entrance
How a Warm and Wonderful Weekday Wedding works:
  • We meet once, at a mutually convenient time (after hours is fine) generally at a mutually convenient place within the 4068/4069 postcode area and at this meeting
    • we talk about the style of ceremony you would like
    • you choose your declaration of intent, vows, and ring vows from the options I provide
    • I take the two of you through the ceremony so you will feel comfortable on the day
    • we  complete the Notice of Intended Marriage
    • where possible you show me your proofs of ID and how any previous marriage ended, however, if that is not possible, you may show me those on your wedding day, just before the ceremony commences.
    • you confirm the location for the ceremony and pay a non-refundable deposit of $200
    • I give you a receipt
  • The ceremony fee covers
    • Delivery of your ceremony with warmth and friendliness
    • Attendance at the venue agreed
    • Solemnising of the marriage
    • Compliance with all legal requirements
    • Provision of the Presentation certificate and a beautifully presented copy of your vows as a keepsake
  • The following conditions apply
    • The ceremony can take place anytime (24/7) Monday-Thursday or on Friday morning
    • The ceremony venue is your choice of private residence or other venue
Candidly, many couples go the Registry Office or the Courthouse wanting a short, cheap and easy marriage ceremony, and because they think the arrangements can be made at short notice.  But that is probably not what will really happen.
