While
the Marriage Act requires you to provide documentary
proof of how your last marriage ended, if you’ve been
previously married more than once you must write in the
number of marriages and the years in which those
marriages took place.
These figures are collected by the Australian Bureau of
Statistics. The information is not included on your
marriage certificate, nor does there have to be any
mention of previous marriages in your marriage ceremony.
