Notice of Intended Marriage
When the Marriage Act changed to remove the prohibition on couples who do not fit into the old “a man and a woman” definition of marriage, a new item was added to the Notice of Intended Marriage – Sex.

Specifically the NOIM now requires you to indicate your sex so that the Australian Bureau of Statistics can continue to collect and publish de-identified statistics on the sex of marrying parties.

There are three options for sex: ‘Male’, ‘Female’ and ‘X’ . Choose X if you do not exclusively identify as either male or female, for example if you are is intersex, or your sex is indeterminate or unspecified.

PS you can use either a Tick or a Cross to mark the box - but a cross is usually neater!
